Interested in starting a blog and making money from home? I earned my first $200 within 3 months of starting Frugal on the Prairie then went on to earn a full-time income from home about 6 months later! If you're ready to get started, I have a step-by-step tutorial for setting up your domain and hosting here, which can be a headache to figure out by yourself if you've never done it before! I also highly recommend and use Bluehost for my hosting! (<---That's an affiliate link but girl, I never recommend something I don't love or use ;)
What in the world is a resource library and why should you create one?
A resource library is a password-protected page containing multiple subscriber incentives that you can offer as a subscriber incentive. Sound confusing? Let me explain:
- Step 1: You create multiple subscriber incentives like worksheets, printables, etc.
- Step 2: You want to offer them all together as a bundle to your readers
- Step 3: You upload them all on a password protected page on your blog
- Step 4: People sign up on your email list and you give them the password to access all the freebies
- Step 5: You celebrate because your list is growing and growing each day!
While readers like getting one freebie from you, they like getting multiple freebies even more.
Creating a resource library for your subscribers helps show them that they're a part of an exclusive club. It's also a great alternative to free courses or free ebooks.
I've always used the Essential Grid Plugin for my resource library but it costs money and I never spent money on "extras" like that during my first months of blogging. It took me awhile before I got comfortable investing in it and I know a lot of my blogging students feel the same way. We are businesswomen on a budget!
So I did created a tutorial with a workaround and it's 100% free if you already have a Wordpress blog set up.
Please note that this tutorial is in Wordpress but you can apply the same steps to other platforms. As long as you can create a password-protected page, you're good to go!

Please note that the beginning of the video is simply a blank screen with audio and that the actual tutorial begins around 4:00.
